BEACONSFIELD hosts its arch enemy and neighbours, Berwick, in round 17 of the Casey Cardinia Football League on Saturday.
The Wickers handed the Eagles a football lesson last time they met, with a 75-point thumping.
Fourth-placed Berwick needs to win this match to keep its top three prospects alive.
Berwick had a bye last round, while Beaconsfield fell to a persistent Doveton to the tune of 34 points at Robinson Oval.
Doveton edged ahead in the first half, which saw just nine goals, to hold a nine-point lead at half-time.
The Doves broke the match open with a four-goal third term, followed by another four majors in the last.
Full-back Daniel Battaglin was Beaconsfield’s best player, with another committed effort in the back half.
Aaron Gwozdziewski, captain Daniel Mislicki, Troy McDermott and Robbie Taylor were prominent around the ground.
NARRE Warren travels to E.G. Allen Oval to face the last-placed Devon Meadows – and Magpies coach Chris Toner is looking to create history.
“One thing’s for sure, in my time at Narre Warren, which is over 20 years, we’ve never won a game at the (Cranbourne) racecourse,” he said.
“It will be nice to go down there and try and have a win. We look forward to going there. The boys are young and they just want to play footy.”
Narre were superb on Saturday, giving Keysborough a 152-point shellacking at Kalora Park. The high-standard first quarter proved to be a false dawn as the Magpies took control over the next three quarters to record an emphatic win.
Narre Warren piled on 25 goals to four after quarter time in a brutal display.
The Magpies, who kicked the league’s highest score of the season, had 13 goalkickers, with Ben Wragg, Justin Marriott and Nick Scanlon all booting five.
“It’s a positive,” Toner said.
“We don’t rely on any one player, we had three (players) who kicked five (goals).
“It makes it a little bit more difficult for the opposition when you’ve got an even spread. It looks good when you see blokes kicking 100 (goals), but it’s probably not necessarily the best thing for the team.”
