FERNTREE Gully CFA will play host to brigades from the Dandenong Ranges and beyond at the upcoming Knox Fire Brigades Group Torchlight Parade.
The hugely popular event will be of particular importance to the Ferntree Gully Brigade which, along with the Boronia brigade, this year celebrates 75 years of service to the community.
Many local brigades including from Olinda, Macclesfield, Selby, Sassafras and Ferny Creek have put up their hand to attend the march on Saturday 4 March.
Around 30 brigades from throughout Victoria and interstate will turn out.
The event will feature three of Victoria’s best pipe bands for the march.
The route will begin at Ferntree Gully football ground (where the festival is held) and traditionally gains great support from the community.
The event is a great way for fellow firefighters from around Victoria to meet up and enjoy a meal together.
The torchlight parade is part of the Knox Festival and, on conclusion of the march, there will be a spectacular fireworks display.
The march will kick off at 8.30pm.
