WHEN it comes to people’s buying patterns of organic cotton products, baby wear is clearly the most sought after category, according to retailer Raithe Handiman of Blessed Earth Organic Cotton Essentials in Selby.
“There are a few reasons for this,” she explains.
“Babies lose their transferred immunity at around one month and don’t develop their own until aged about 12 months. During this period they are vulnerable to traces of chemicals in their clothing and environment. A growing percentage of children now have allergies and asthma which makes natural fibre clothing even more necessary.”
Raithe also said that parents naturally tend to put their babies’ needs first, while often setting aside their own requirements, especially in clothing.
The Blessed Earth Winter sale is now on.
“At Blessed Earth, we have an excellent range of organic Egyptian cotton clothing for babies and children and the entire range is our ‘product of the month’ for August,” she said.
“All items are reduced by an amazing 50 per cent until sold out.”
Blessed Earth is at 125 Belgrave-Gembrook Road, Selby.
