THE father-son duo of Dave and Daniel Hunt tore the course, and the opposition, apart at the Emerald Golf Club as players competed for the annual foursomes crown.
Dave played off 16 while his son Daniel played off 20 to dominate play.
In the end their net score of 62 saw them as clear winners.
Their scratch score of 80 had them breathing down the necks of the eventual winners, Martin Yeats and Ross Martin who came in with 79 off the stick.
In a reversal of results, this put them second in the net tallies.
Other pairings to perform well were Rod Ward and Rick Arthurson on 69, Andrew Tudor and Ken Sumsion 70, while Ken Hill and Alan Ecclestone came in with 71.5.
The winner of this week’s golf for the chronologically enhanced was Moss Fuller, followed in closely by brother Dennis.
Next week, the final of the matchplay championship takes place between Mango Maguire, playing off 5 against Andrew Tudor off 22.
Both will have to be at their best to win.
The rest of the stragglers will play a stableford event and each player will only him himself to blame for difficulties, unlike the battles during the foursomes event.
