THE hills came alive to the sound of music recently as Ferny Creek Primary School children sang a rendition of the song Do Re Mi.
The song made famous by the musical The Sound of Music was part of a performance for Rosemary Marchington from the Cuckoo Restaurant.
Ms Marchington sings Do Re Mi in the Cuckoo’s Bavarian floorshow and is always practicing her performance at home for her children.
It was when her children, who attend Ferny Creek Primary School, started doing their own rendition of Do Re Mi that Ms Marchington got the idea to teach the song to students at the school.
Music teacher Karen Noonan recently organised a performance for Ms Marchington with the students donning Bavarian hats and clothing and singing Do Re Mi and How Much is That Doggy in the Window.
Do Re Mi will now be performed at the school’s end of term concert.
