Battle of the beat

HILLS youths should get ready for a night of non-stop entertainment as the 2007 Push Start Battle of the Bands takes centre stage.
After months of talking about the event and calling for local acts to take part – it has finally arrived.
The battle of the bands will be held at Pakenham Hall, on the corner of John and Henry Streets, on Friday, 29 June, and will be a great night out for young people.
Hills musicians and bands will get together to display their talent and show their audience a good time.
Some of the talent that will be on show includes Decomvulsion, Decembers Fallen, Slayain, Shy Robyn, Sunsets in Suburbia, The Posers and Me, and You and the other Two.
All these bands will be competing for some awesome prizes and the chance to win a spot and make a name for themselves in the regional finals.
The event is fully supervised and is drug, alcohol and smoke-free for people over the age of 13.
Doors open at 6.45pm and the show will start at 7pm and finish at 11pm. No pass-outs will be available on the night.
Admission for the show is $5 with a pass and $8 without a pass. Tickets can be obtained from Cardinia Shire Council’s youth services team on 5945 4351 or from Leading Edge Music in Pakenham.
