MATER Christi will have its own Miss Teen Galaxy representative this month.
Initially hesitant to enter the contest, Molayo Fashogbon gave into the persuasion of her family and has now found herself heading to Sydney for the finale this March.
“I came across an application on a website,” she said.
After asking her friends and family if they think she should enter, never did the 15-year-old think she would find herself in the top group of competitors.
“I was asking everyone advice about it, then I thought I would give it a try,” she said.
“I didn’t expect to actually get through.”
Having spent time modelling in the past, the Berwick resident is looking forward to the event.
“I get a little nervous through it all, but excitement comes with it too,” the student said.
The teen will travel to Sydney with another victoria finalist, with the main event set to occur on 24 March.
There will be four stages in the pageant, and Molayo said she expected to come up against about 15-20 competitors.
The student from Mater Chrsiti said the upcoming pageant also gave her the chance to do fund-raising for the Make-a-Wish foundation.
“I plan to do something at school, or something along the lines of the forty-hour famine,” she said.
