LAST weekend marked the beginning of an annual celebration of arts and music in Emerald as the PAVE festival got into full swing.
The Performing and Visual Arts in Emerald (PAVE) festival began on Saturday with the unveiling of Emerald’s Mali the Elephant statue outside the Emerald Library, and a number of other events around the town.
Other events included a voice workshop with Barbra McFarlane Emerald Community House, as well as plenty of live performers around town, including Katie Dunstan from TV show The Voice.
Emerald Lake Park also played host to live music, with a concert band, belly dancing and a drum circle running in the afternoon.
The festival will run until Sunday 21 April, concluding with Emerald FunFest, which is run throughout Kilvington Drive and Heroes Avenue in town.
Events will be run all week, with a variety of topics, mediums and competitions available.
