Sport lights launched

GEMBROOK Cockatoo Football and Netball Club players and fans can look forward to more time on the field after new lights at the Gembrook Recreation Reserve were turned on last week.
Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty joined Gembrook MP Brad Battin at the club to officially launch the new lights thanks to $60,000 in funding pledged by the Victorian Coalition Government during the last election campaign.
“Having high quality and sustainable sport and recreation facilities is central to encouraging more Victorians to get more active more often, which is a top priority for the Coalition government,” Mr Delahunty said.
“The new lights will open up the oval to more night training, match development, and local summer and winter competition.
“There is also greater opportunity to recruit new members, build on the club’s great social base and host more events.
Mr Delahunty thanked the Gembrook Cockatoo Football and Netball Club and Cardinia Shire Council for its support for the project.
