Diamond show impresses

By MELISSA MEEHAN

THE sun was shining as thousands made their way to the Lilydale Showgrounds over the weekend in its 60th year.
Crowds from across the state visited the Lilydale Agricultural and Horticultural Show Society event that focused on agriculture, family fun and the rural lifestyle.
Keeping true to its roots, the show still keeps traditional agriculture show ‘where the city meets the country’ theme.
The Melba Park precinct was a flurry of excitement, with free activities and entertainment lapped up by excited families.
Some cuddled a large variety of furry and feathered friends, others visited the animal nursery, and some daredevils even patted a snake at the reptile show.
The Lilydale Show wouldn’t be complete without a woodchop event, fast and furious – and did not disappoint.
