CLEMATIS resident Peter Cook is taking his concerns over paying for solar power to the top.
Mr Cook will go to Canberra on Sunday to Tuesday to talk with relevant ministers about the Australian Energy Market Commission plans to impose fees on solar owners.
“This would effectively be a tax on the sun and penalise people who have tried to do the right thing,” he said.
“We will deliver a petition from the many Australians who oppose any tax on the sun.”
Mr Cook is part of a small team at Solar Citizens who have been working around the clock to get 25,000 signatures on a petition to present to Greg Hunt and Ian MacFarlane to show the love of solar around Australia.
He is going to Canberra to speak on behalf of solar power users in the La Trobe electorate.
The La Trobe electorate boasts more than 5000 solar homes which save families nearly $3 million in electricity bills.
