Ocker rockers

A GROUP of hills musicians led by Dave McFarlane will pay tribute to one of Australia’s favourite rockers – Eric Clapton – next week.
The group has formed the first Eric Clapton tribute band and are known as Claptonesque and will perform at the next instalment of the Ranges Burrinja Folk Club on Friday 16 November.
Eric Clapton is renowned for his work with bands such as Cream, Blind Faith, Derek and the Dominos and the groundbreaking John Mayall Blues Breakers album.
Clapton is also a multi-Grammy award winning guitarist, singer and composer and is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the rock-era.
Claptonesque promises to put on a high-energy show of classic Clapton hits in a fantastic concert performed by a dedicated seven-piece band of local music identities led by respected blues man and songwriter Dave McFarlane.
The band will take centre stage at the folk club next week with a musical tribute to Clapton that will celebrate 30 years of rock and guitar history.
The show will feature some of Clapton’s greatest hits such as Crossroads, Layla, Tears in Heaven and Running on Faith.
