One for the ages

By JODIE SYMONDS

EAGERLY smiling Prep students racing to show their grandparents their work filled the classrooms of Birmingham Primary school last Wednesday.
Prep student Lucy had two generations of elders at Grandparents Day to view her work.
Lucy’s grandmother, grandfather and great grandfather (Opa) came to school to share the special day.
“It’s good, he’s special to me,” Lucy said.
Opa said how great it was to spend the day with Lucy.
“It’s absolutely lovely,” Opa said.
Lucy’s grandmother Petra said what a wonderful experience Grandparents Day was.
“It’s one of those things where you never know what’s ahead so it’s great to have this done for Lucy and other students,” Petra said.
Prep co-ordinator Anita Bradshaw said it was a special day for the Preps and their families.
“It really gives the students the chance to show their grandparents what they’ve achieved and worked on throughout the year, as well as spend time with them,”
The day included a performance from the students of nursery rhymes and songs then a morning tea filled with scones as well as other goodies before the students went out to play.
