Selimovic wins monthly medal

By Dennis Fuller
AFTER the big hot came a perfect day for golf at Emerald Country Club in conditions, which produced a course rating of 69 for the day.
The January Monthly Medal was up for grabs and that is exactly what Edin Selimovic (4) did.
His net 67 saw him stand atop the rostrum to collect the medal as well as the A Grade gong.
Allan Ecclestone (15) showed a return to form when he won B Grade on a count-back from Geoff Isherwood (20). Both golfers managed net 69.
Peter Jones (21) has been close to winning C Grade for several weeks, finally breasted the tape with his net 68.
Andrew Tudor scored 68, Ken Hill and Graeme White both carded 69 while Rick Arthurson came in level with the card on 70.
Nearest the pins were won by Peter Stevens on the 4th, Steve Miller the 13th, and Dennis Fuller saved his only decent shots to win on the 10th and also to pick up the pro pin on the 18th.
Wednesday’s comp, an Ambrose event, saw a team of Leigh Morison and Mark Lothian triumph with net 59.5 from teams of Ken Hill and Peter Clowes and Geoff and Brett Isherwood who both had 62.5. The putting was won by Mick Petrie.
The Thursday twilight, 12-hole comp was won by the 12-hole specialist, Peter Clowes, who managed 27 points.
Next Saturday is a par event for all.
