Mount Evelyn tries for flag

By KATH GANNAWAY

MOUNT Evelyn under-14s never gave up in a grand final match where the opposition dominated from the first bounce.
South Belgrave’s record – going into the 2014 DRJFL under-14 grand final with three premiership flags to their credit – was always going to be a tough one to follow, and it turned out to be just that.
Mount Evelyn coach Glen Burton congratulated the boys for a great year and making it through to the grand final saying they had all played a great brand of football.
Matthew Darke was named best opposition player.
Final scores were South Belgrave 10.16 (76) to Mount Evelyn 2.1 (13).
