Remarkable man

Edward Price
Born: 1935
Died: 12 October 2005

EDWARD “Ted” Price, the owner of Kalorama Bins, passed away on Wednesday, 12 October after a heart attack.
He was farewelled in a ceremony held at the family home in Kalorama, which was attended by more than 200 people.
Among those paying their respects were family members, friends and customers.
Ted’s daughter, Bev Stevens said: “It was a beautiful ceremony.”
Ted had retired from fulltime work and was taking time out to enjoy his life.
“He would go out in his truck and catch up with friends.
He had more time to take holidays with Penny (his wife),” Bev said.
Even though he was in semi retirement, Ted, 69, was still enjoying his small stints at work.
He was delivering a bin in Ferny Creek, when he had a massive heart attack.
“He died doing what he loved,” Bev said.
He was wellknown in the Dandenong Ranges having been born and raised in Kalorama.
Ted married his first wife Pat in 1957. He had six children. He and Pat later separated.
He married for the second time in 1983 to Penny who he was married to for 22 years at the time of his death.
At the time of their marriage Penny had four children and with Ted’s six, it made for a full household.
But, Bev said that her father lived his life for his children and family.
During his lifetime Ted had many different jobs from garden supplies distributor, and car salesman, to the owner of Kalorama Bins.
Bev said everyone who met him loved him and his passion for life and his family.
“He was a nice genuine bloke.
“He was a remarkable man who we are going to miss terribly, but we are all better off to have known him,” Bev said.
