Skate strategy up for review

By VICTORIA STONE-MEADOWS

CARDINIA Shire Council is developing a new Skate and BMX Strategy, and is seeking community feedback.
The council is keen to have public opinion about existing and future skate parks and BMX tracks in the shire.
The new strategy will provide a strategic approach to future development of skate and BMX facilities around Cardinia Shire.
Council is seeking community feedback to ensure high quality and diverse facilities that meet the needs of the community.
The development of the new Skate and BMX Strategy is jointly funded by the council and the Victorian Government through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Community Facilities Funding Program.
This new community directed strategy will replace council’s existing Skate Strategy that was formulated in 2002.
For more information, or to provide feedback, visit council’s ‘Have your say’ web page under the Consultation opportunities banner on the Cardinia Shire website.
Written submissions can also be sent to Cardinia Shire Council, PO Box 7, Pakenham 3810 or email: recreation@cardinia.vic.gov.au
Submissions to the strategy plan close on 31 August 2015.
