VICTORIA Police have confirmed to the Mail the death of a Sassafras man, 54, after the vehicle in which he was travelling hit a bus in Belgrave on Friday afternoon 23 October.
Witnesses have told investigating officers the man was seen travelling west along Mount Dandenong-Tourist Road about 5.30pm, when he veered onto the wrong side of the road and crashed his car into a bus.
The man died at the scene, while the bus driver and a passenger escaped serious injury.
Lilydale police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, a report will also be prepared for the Coroner.
