Lane’s pick down long and winding road

THE 11th PAVE/EmeraldU3A Photography Competition and Exhibition was again well-received, as part of the recent Emerald PAVE Festival.
The theme this year was, ‘It’s a Long and Winding Road’, with numerous entries judged by the well-known journalist, photographer and camera expert from ‘The Green Guide’, Terry Lane.
Winner overall was Kerry Casey from Upper Ferntree Gully with her entry ‘Many Roads I Have Seen’, a photograph of a derelict truck.
Winner of the non-theme section was Val Rees of Selby with ‘Barbed Web’, a beautifully photographed black-and-white image of cobwebs and dew on a piece of barbed wire.
The U3A People’s Choice award also went to Val Rees for ‘Barbed Web’.
As a follow-up to this exhibition, local photographers of all skill levels are invited to meet at U3A House Emerald at 7.30pm on Thursday 12 May with a view of forming an Emerald Camera Club.
All are welcome.
