Trail to inclusiveness

STUDENTS at Billanook Primary School are another step closer to a more inclusive environment, with construction to start soon on a sensory trail, garden, outdoor kitchen and new classroom. Monbulk MP James Merlino announced the school had received $8800 under the Victorian Government’s Inclusive Schools Fund, which promotes upgrades to support students with a disability to better participate and engage with their learning. Mr Merlino said: “One of the most fundamental ways we can help our kids perform better at school is to improve school infrastructure to give them a better learning environment, which is why we created the Inclusive Schools Fund.” Pictured, from left, are Principal Julie Legione, Harry (student), James Merlino and Kaiden (student). 155788
