They’re sew right

LYREBIRD Quilters member Cheryl Meyer from Emerald has proven she has the skills to sew up the competition.
At the recent Victorian Quilters’ Quilt Showcase 2016, held as part of the Melbourne Craft and Quilt Fair, Cheryl won first place in the ‘First Time Entrant’ category and ‘Excellence in Domestic Machine Quilting – Amateur’.
Her ‘Caswell Quilt’ featured 30 blocks of machine-appliqued floral work and was quilted on her domestic sewing machine.
It is a beautiful quilt and took many hours to complete.
Cheryl also attends the Macclesfield Craft Group, which meets at the Macclesfield Community Church Hall on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 1pm to 4pm.

The Lyrebird Quilters meet on the third Saturday of each month at the Belgrave Library meeting room from 1pm to 4pm.
