OLINDA-based artist Anzara Clarke will have her wearable artworks exhibited at the Victorian State Library as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
Her exhibition, titled ‘Ex Libris’, is part of the Open Book Program that is run in partnership with Melbourne City of Literature for the Fringe Festival.
Where other artists are displaying literary works, Anzara’s work is a sculptural piece made from recycled books and paper.
‘Ex Libris’ – translates to ‘from the library of’ – is inspired by the architecture and historically significant role of the State Library of Victoria.
Anzara has re-imagined the domed reading room as an historical garment that celebrates the importance of literature in the history, culture and lives of the people of Melbourne.
‘Ex Libris’ by Anzara Clarke will have free admission during the library opening hours and will be on display from 15 to 22 of September.
