Monbulk have it their way

Monbulk hosted St John’s-Tecoma in a double-header Twenty20 match.
No other junior or senior matches were played this weekend due to the Melbourne Cup.
The seconds won back-to-back games for the first time in a while.
Batting first, Monbulk made 5/148 from their 20 overs, thanks largely to a match-winning opening partnership between Aaron Bermingham and Matt Neal.
They then restricted St John’s to 5/121 with a great team performance with the ball and in the field, with Josh Rak the pick of the bowlers with 2/18 from his four overs.
The seniors remain undefeated after an exciting last-over win.
Chasing St John’s-Tecoma’s 6/159, Aaron Powell hit a six with a ball to spare to win the match.
Man of the match, Powelly, finished on 31 not out and took 3/22.
A 70-run opening stand between Brodie Emmett and Brian Martin set up the run chase.
All teams back on board next weekend with the trivia night the following weekend – Saturday 18 November.
Book it in for a fun night.
Seniors, junior and Milo parents – friends and family – welcome.
