She has used her passion for both to forge a niche market for her work.
Ms Roberts’ latest exhibition, titled Resonance, is just an extension of her previous show which opened last November.
It will feature 30 new pieces of vibrant musical themed images.
Ms Roberts has forged a reputation as one of the country’s most versatile and talented singer-songwriters.
Resonance will go on show at the Burrinja Gallery in Upwey on Thursday 27 November.
Mr Roberts has always had a passion for art but never had time to explore it.
Growing up in Nauru, an island republic in the South Pacific, Ms Roberts soon learnt how keep herself entertained.
She said there were no television or computers and very limited radio coverage.
It was then that Ms Roberts’ love of art and music started. But for years she has concentrated more on her music.
“I have always been fascinated by the various effects of music … the vast array of musical genres and instruments we create,” she said.
The exhibition will feature a number of illustrations that have been digitally enhanced with vibrant colours.
Shire of Yarra Ranges councillor Samantha Dunn will officially open the show next week and local didgeridoo artist, STAX will also keep patrons entertained.
The exhibition will run until 10 December at the Burrinja Gallery, 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey.
