The queen of disco is coming to Upwey.
Singer and performer Marcia Hines will perform at the Burrinja Cultural Centre in Upwey at 8pm on Friday 21 September.
Ms Hines’ career spans five decades, including releasing 22 albums and selling 3.6 million copies.
She has performed in theatre productions including Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Big River, Are You Lonesome Tonight? and Jerry’s Girls.
She was also on the television shows Countdown and Australian Idol.
Burrinja Cultural Centre executive director Ross Farnell said the performance would bring together Ms Hines’ whole career.
“She’ll have back-up singers and dancers,” he said.
“We’re hoping for disco balls to the extreme.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun and a lot of noise.”
Mr Farnell said he would be hoping for the event to sell out.
“Marcia has had a long career and appeals to everyone of all ages,” he said.
