Wise men out of play

MT EVELYN’S Care Force Church is swapping the three wise men for a pirate ship.
Its annual Christmas production is definitely a show not to be missed.
Cast and crew are now putting the final touches on the show before the final curtain call.
The Spear and the Star is a side-splitting parody of the adventures of pirate Captain Galloway.
Audiences will be enthralled as Capt Galloway attempts to stop the evil Mordred Black Heart.
This swash buckling adventure follows Black Heart as he attempts to find the ancient Spear of Longinus.
The evil Black Heart captures Galloway and continues on his quest to claim the power of the spear.
But before he could claim the power, Black Heart is faced with the impending doom of everyone on his ship.
Despite the unusual theme, a Care Force Church spokeswoman said the play still had a Christmas message for everyone.
The curtain will be raised on the play on Saturday 13 December at 7.30pm, 89 Monbulk Road, Mt Evelyn.
The show will run until 19 December. Tickets are now on sale and could be booked by calling 9736 2323.
