AS the season to be ‘jolly’ draws near, hills people should think about planning their yuletide calendar.
A number of Christmas church services and community carols will available this holiday season.
Carols at Belgrave South
BELGRAVE South Baptist Church is hosting a Carols @ Convention on Sunday, 14 December, from 5.30pm with plenty of free gifts for families.
Candles, gift bags and a children’s farm nursery are also some of the activities on offer on the night.
Families can also take up the opportunity to have their Christmas photographs taken in the church’s nativity scene.
The church is also hosting a free film night on Saturday, 19 December from 6pm with the showing of The Nativity.
Services will be held at the church on December 21 from 10am and again on Christmas Day at 9am, on the corner of Belgrave-Hallam and St Austell Roads.
Blue Christmas
MONBULK’S Open Door Community Church is holding a Blue Christmas service on Sunday 14 December.
The service will be a time of reflection for those who don’t find Christmas a happy time.
Doors will open at 5pm, on the corner of David Hill and Moxhams Road, Monbulk.
Christmas play with a twist
MT Evelyn Careforce Church is once again putting on a Christmas production not to be missed.
The play, titled The Spear and the Star is an adventure the whole family will enjoy.
Despite being based on a pirate adventure, the production still hold a Christmas message for audiences.
The curtain will be raised on the production on Saturday 13 and will run until 19 December. Inquiries: 9736 2323.
