Woman missing after Upwey house fire found safe and well

A 43-year-old woman who went missing from a house fire in Upwey has been found.

Police report that the woman was located “safe and well in Upwey.”

Emergency services responded to the Glenfern Avenue fire in Upwey at 11pm on Monday 8 October.

Upon arrival the home was fully engulfed in flame.

A teenage girl who was in the house at the time managed to flee the fire unharmed, but a woman who lived there remained unaccounted for until now.

The house was extensively damaged and aire investigators are still attending the site to determine the cause of the blaze, which is unknown at this stage.
