GOODWILL to all is the theme of this Saturday’s Knox Carols by Candlelight.
ARIA Hall of Fame inductee and former Little River Band front man Glenn Shorrock will headline the event at Ferntree Gully Recreation Reserve on 6 December.
Deborah Cotton, Matt Olsen, the Melbourne and National Children’s choirs and the Youth Chorale of Australia will sing up a storm.
A 35-piece concert band and the Australian Army Band will accompany them.
Brian Nankervis from SBS TV show RocKwiz will be the master of ceremonies.
A free children’s fairground and art activities commence at 4pm.
At 7pm the only free Melbourne performance of Dorothy the Dinosaur meets Father Christmas will have kids singing and dancing.
Santa arrives at 9pm and a spectacular fireworks display will kick off an hour later.
The free, annual event attracts more than 10,000 people. It is the largest Christmas celebration in Victoria outside Sidney Myer Music Bowl’s Carols by Candlelight.
The event is open to people of all abilities, with accessible parking and toilets, Auslan Sign Interpreters and large text carol booklets. Ferntree Gully Recreation Reserve is located in Brenock Park Drive, Ferntree Gully.
