HUNDREDS flocked to Upwey’s Main Street last Sunday for the fourth annual Billy Cart Races.
The highly anticipated councillor’s race was a non-event when Streeton Ward’s Noel Cliff was the lone shire representative.
Cr Cliff had a water pistol and flour bombs on hand for the showdown.
“I was ready to give them bloody hell, but they didn’t show up,” he said.
Spectators enjoyed free face painting, street performers and a sausage sizzle as competitors did battle on the treacherous track.

Belgrave Sergeant Andrew Herdman took out the emergency services category.
Grayson Steer guided his 11 team members to victory in the 5 to 14 years novelty event in a limousine-style cart.
