HILLS sporting clubs can now access extra training sessions after the Kalorama Reserve received new lights.
Shire of Yarra Ranges Chandler Ward councillor Graham Warren said the lights would enable clubs to use the ground for night training.
The $75,000 project was a joint initiative between the council and the Hilltop Recreation Association.
Cr Warren said the added lights would help reduce pressure on other grounds and give clubs more flexibility with their training schedules.
“The lights are a welcome addition and will enable clubs to extend training hours,” he said.
“It will also open the park up for greater use, with other community groups able to use the facilities.”
So far, Montrose and Olinda-Ferny Creek football clubs and the CFA have expressed interest in using the grounds.
