MT Evelyn’s Scott Newnham has a nervous wait this week as the Australian public votes for his future.
The Australian Idol contestant last night received rave reviews for only his fourth-ever public performance. Scott had the audience on their feet on Sunday night (6 September) with a rendition of Michael Jackson’s version of the Beatles classic ‘Come Together’.
Judges Marcia Hines and Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson said he was at home on the stage.
Scott has been touted as one of Australia’s best kept secrets – even to his own family.
The bricklayer never told his family or friends he wanted to be a singer.
“I just kept it to myself,” Scott said. Scott is hoping the Australian public votes to keep him in the competition in a bid to give up his shovel and trowel. The results will be revealed on Sunday night from 6.30pm on Channel 10.
