RENOWNED funny man Rod Quantock is bringing his popular climate change show to the hills.
Bugger the Polar Bears – This is Serious, will take centre stage at the Burrinja Gallery in Upwey next month.
Hosted by the Dandenong Ranges Oxfam Group, the show is set to get people thinking about the ever present issue of climate change.
Quantock has done his homework, talking to climate specialists, read reports and watched documentaries for latest show.
He has taken clips from news stories and joined the dots in this hilarious look at a global issue. Quantock will keep audiences in stitches as to talks about worst fires, longest droughts, most devastating storms, mass extinctions, melting ice cars and polar bears drowning.
But he says bugger the solar bears – this is serious.
“I hate polar bears…why is climate change always about polar bears? Who is their agent?” Quantock said.
“It’s not like they’re the only ones who’ll be extinct…chances are we will all be extinct!”
Dandenong Ranges Oxfam group’s Kathy Tyler said those who have been thinking about climate change should not miss this show.
The group hopes bringing the show to the hills will help raise awareness of climate change in the lead up to talks in Copenhagen in December.
The show will be held on Saturday 3 October at the Burrinja Gallery, 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey from 7.30pm.
Tickets are now on sale and cost $30 adults or $25 for concession cardholders.
Bookings are available by calling Kathy Tyler on 9755 1906.
