OLINDA-MOUNT DANDENONG Bendigo Community Bank sub-branch is offering hills residents a wide range of services to meet their needs.
They no longer have to travel down the mountain to Upwey, Belgrave, or Ferntree Gully to do their banking.
Since opening in December, the sub-branch has offered a range of options from personal and home loans to deposits, transaction and investment accounts.
For businesses customers there are also several services from commercial loans to equipment finance, overdraft facilities and trust accounts.
The Olinda-Mount Dandenong sub-branch also offers customers the convenience of internet banking.
Branch manager Luan Hanlen said the Bendigo Community Bank group prides itself on the personalised service it offers its customers.
She said prior to the Olinda-Mount Dandenong sub-branch opening, residents had longed for a facility to be established in the area.
“They wanted one (a bank) that would not only be able to offer the banking requirements that both personal and business clients are looking for, but also one that is able to contribute to the community,” Ms Hanlen said.
The bank now forms part of the Dandenong Ranges Community Bank network which has branches in Upwey, Belgrave, Cockatoo-Gembrook and now Olinda-Mount Dandenong. It also has agencies in Emerald and Marysville.
Ms Hanlen said this expansion of services had reinforced the groups’ commitment to the communities it supports.
The group has distributed more than $850,000 since it was first established in 1998 and has earmarked $1 million towards a retirement village and aged activities centre.
“Our community grants, sponsorship and scholarship programs are now well established and are part of the community calendar,” Ms Hanlen said. The Bendigo Bank’s commitment to community each year enables a proportion of profits to be funnelled straight back into the local area it services.
The Olinda-Mount Dandenong sub-branch is now open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am to noon. All new customers are welcome to drop in and talk to the friendly staff at shop 5, 232 Ridge Road, Olinda, during opening hours or call 9751 0744 for more information.
