Net on snail mail site

MOUNT EVELYN Post Office is making internet access easy.
The store is now offering prepaid use of the net on two computers.
The PCs are equipped with web cameras for online video streaming and accept USB flash drives and discs so users can save their downloads.
Customers purchase a prepaid internet voucher that they can then also use at other kiosks throughout Australia.
The system is perfect for tourists and travellers.
Mount Evelyn Post Office licensees Kathie and Gary Freeman pride themselves on friendly, helpful service.
They can assist customers with colour and black and white printing services, photocopying – including a discount for bulk copies – and laminating, and keep a bill pay box on the verandah.
“So there’s no need to wait if you’re busy or in a hurry,” Kathie said.
“You can just put your cheque and bill into the box.”
Kathie and Gary support local identities in several ways, such as stocking books from local authors.
They offer customers Working with Children and WorkSafe applications, passport photos and interviews, cash passports and travellers cheques and cash.
Banking through the Commonwealth Bank, National Australia Bank, Citibank and a range of building societies is available.
The store also has a range of gift card vouchers, stamp and coin collections and gifts.
Mount Evelyn Post Office is located at 12 Station Street, Mount Evelyn, and can be contacted on 9736 2251.
The store is open 9am to 5pm weekdays and 9am to 12noon Saturdays, with parcel pick up available from 8.30am.
