AT ST Paul’s Monbulk, classes are buzzing with the excitement of discovery as they investigate machines of many types and create their own.
In years 5 and 6 students are using Lego robotics kits and computer software to design machines and write computer programs to control the movements.
In years 3 and 4 students are stepping back in time to discover and investigate technology of medieval times as they discover the mechanics of machines such as drawbridges and catapults. They are using this knowledge to design and construct their own castles.
At junior level the students in Prep, 1 and 2 classes are finding out about the workings of everyday tools and equipment as they investigate simple machines such as eggbeaters, wheels and spanners. They are using this learning to be imaginative inventors of amazing machines.
