EMERALD vet Alan Ward has handed over the reins to his practice after 33 years’ service to the local community.
Macclesfield couple Kurt and Kylie Enzinger have purchased Emerald Veterinary Clinic from Dr Ward who is hanging up his stethoscope.
Dr Kurt Enzinger has lived in the Emerald area his whole life and also runs a successful, large animal practice – predominantly equine – in the hills and surrounding Yarra Valley.
The acquisition of Emerald Veterinary Clinic has allowed Dr Enzinger and his team to provide a high standard of veterinary care to all animals.
Heading the team at Emerald is another local, Peter Cameron – a highly experienced small animal veterinarian who also has a special interest in exotic animals, particularly reptiles.
Emerald Veterinary Clinic is currently undergoing renovations and equipment upgrades to include a digital X-ray machine, ultrasound, endoscope, anaesthesia monitoring and surgical instruments.
“Our sole aim is to be a progressive clinic which provides a high level of veterinary science, diagnostics and professionalism to our clients in the local community,” Dr Enzinger said.
Clients will still be greeted by familiar faces from behind the front desk when they enter the practice. Kate and Helene have worked at Emerald Veterinary Clinic for a combined 40-plus years.
Dr Enzinger said it was important the Emerald team were locals.
“We have all either grown up or lived in the area for a long time which means we are part of and have strong ties to the local community,” he said.
Emerald Veterinary Clinic invites those interested to come and visit, whether it is to collect their pet’s medications, buy pet food, a toy or collar, or just to meet Dr Cameron and have a sticky beak.
