SHOPPERS and movie goers didn’t let flash floods get in the way of some leisure time at Westfield Fountain Gate on the weekend.
A spokesperson for Westfield said there were only six stores that didn’t trade during the storms on Friday evening. Four of those stores resumed trade on Saturday and only one business, Tunzafun Family Fun Centre, remained closed on Sunday.
The News understands the play centre had a severely damaged ceiling due to the heavy rainfall. The spokesperson said Village Cinemas, in the upper level of the shopping centre, remained open.
“We worked closely with retailers to get the businesses operating as usual,” the spokesperson said.
