NARRE WARREN’S Sarah Hemsley could be taking on the world stage if she wins a national beauty therapy competition next year.
The beauty therapist from the Visions of Berwick salon competed and won gold in the Worldskills Competition in July.
Sarah will represent Victoria next year in the national competition.
She could be heading overseas if she takes out the national title in beauty therapy next April.
“I had to do a facials, tinting, make-up, waxing and manicures. I was judged on the end result and on my professionalism,” she said.
The 19-year-old enjoyed competing on behalf of Victoria and had high hopes to take out first prize.
In October 2009, Sarah represented Chisholm in the regional Worldskills competition winning silver.
She will be looking forward to competing in the national contest and has her sights set on the world stage.
“The world title is in Germany, I think. That would be cool,” she said.
After completing her diploma in beauty therapy last year, Sarah was awarded Chisholm Institute’s ‘Most Outstanding Student in the Certificate III Beauty Services’.
She describes herself as ‘very passionate’ about her craft.
“It doesn’t feel like work at the salon,” she said.
That finishing touch
