I WRITE in regards to the Not Welcome story (News, 17 November) about residents’ objection to mental health facility being established in Narre Warren North.
This closed minded attitude infuriates me to no end.
Clearly these people have had the luxury of being able to go through life without any of these problems.
They have not had to see what things like anxiety and depression can do to a person and their families.
It is facilities such as these that help people in our community.
Speaking from someone that has witnessed a loved one go through the devastation of mental illness, it was a facility similar to this that has enabled us to keep our loved one. Others are not so lucky.
Stop being so selfish and think of someone other than yourselves.
I would not have a problem if it was round the corner from my house.
Grow up for heaven’s sake.
K. Jenkins,
Narre Warren South.
