Hospice appeal to bowl over residents

RESIDENTS have been invited to get in raising money for Emerald’s palliative care unit Fernlea House and join in the fun of a dinner and grand auction at Monbulk Bowling Club on Saturday night.
Fernlea House vice-president and event organiser Leonie Williams said the dinner and auction, while promising to be a fun night, also has a serious side.
“Our hope is for the day the hospice will be open four or five days per week, and ultimately to offer residential care,” she said.
Tickets are now available and cost $30. Bookings can be made by calling Ms Williams on 9756 6059.
The dinner and auction will be held at the Monbulk Bowling Club on Saturday, 1 April from 6.45pm.
