Sun down to fun

MACCLESFIELD Primary School is gearing up for its twilight festival on Saturday which will be packed full of fun and laughter.
There will be something for all ages with amusements rides including bungee trampolines, a giant tiger slide, sumo wrestling suits, camel rides, pony rides, hot air balloon rides and a jumping castle.
Stalls of crafts, flowers, lucky dip, face painting and show bags will also be on offer.
An array of food and drinks will cater to local appetites with a beer and alcohol tent, hots dogs, a sausage sizzle, spit roast, bakes potatoes, tea and coffee, chips, lollies, fairy floss and snow cones.
The festival will provide a day of entertainment for young and old including a visit from the Channel 9 or police helicopter, various local bands and a top 40’s kid duo competition.
A huge raffle with more than 50 prizes will also be held during the course of the day.
Entry is free and the school aims to raise money through the numerous stalls and rides on offer.
She said the school is aiming to surpass the last festival by raising more than $13,000 which will go towards helping to pay for new furniture for the school.
Finishing off a day of fun, food and excitement a fire works display will enthral the local children between 6-8pm.
The festival has been sponsored by Sockdale and Leggo in Emerald and will start at 1pm and finish at 8.30pm on Saturday, 8 April.
