IN the first game of the season, the under 16 players came out to show Monbulk what they were made of and Monbulk were in awe.
The players thought they had done the job in the first half and forgot to carry on the good work in the second half. After the loss, the team hopefully will now commit to a full four quarters of great footy.
In the under 14 game, Emerald started in fantastic fashion, totally jumping Monbulk to lead by five goals at quarter time. Monbulk fought back valiantly, but Emerald held on for a good first-up win.
Meanwhile, the under 13s had a good start to the season, with a first-game win against Belgrave.
In a great start to the season, all the under 11 players contributed around the ground. Great team football resulted on the scoreboard in a convincing win.
In the under 10 game, the first quarter saw the Emerald players under pressure, but they worked hard to win by eight points.
