Cardinia Shire Council has partnered with The Clothing Exchange to allow parents and guardians the opportunity to exchange their children’s’ toys and clothing for free.

The environmentally friendly event is for parents/guardians with children aged 3-8 years to help tackle how quickly they grow out of their clothes and toys.

This event will take place on the 7th of April from 10am-11:30am at the Beaconsfield Community Complex (8 O’Neil Rd, Beaconsfield).

Parents/guardians will need to bring up to 6 good-quality pre-washed items of clothing and/or 6 good-quality toys to the event.

These are then traded in for tokens to use as ‘currency’ for other clothes and toys.

To allow more children to attend the event, only one parent/guardian per family is allowed and all participants need to register for the event.

Cardinia Shire Mayor, Jack Kowarzik encourages the community to get involved.

“This is a fun and thrifty way to give new life to clothes and toys that your children have outgrown.”

“It is exciting to know that clothing and toys that otherwise may end up in landfill, will be enjoyed by other families”, Mayor Kowarzik said.
