EMERALD Football Club is jumping straight into its pre-season preparation after a disappointing 2005-06 season.
The club has announced its line-up of coaches for the 2006-07 season with Peter Ferrari taking control of the seniors.
Ferrari has a strong history with Emerald as a former coach of the under 14s, 16s, 18s and the seniors.
He is back after spending the past five years at the Woori Yallock Football Club as the under 18s coach.
Meanwhile, Graham Steer has been reappointed as coach of the under 18’s after an unlucky run last season with injuries leaving the side crippled.
The club is shrugging off last season’s bad run and jumping straight into the pre-season, which starts on Monday, 13 November.
Darrell Maher, football manager, said the 2006-07 season was already looking bright with several former players indicating they will return.
“We need all players past and present at pre-season for a big 2007 season,” he said.
Mr Maher said although the club had little success on the field last season it has a fantastic group of boys coming up from the junior league.
He said the blend of up-and-coming youngsters and mature players will put the club in a good position for next season.
Mr Maher said a key project for the club next season will be a building extension on the clubrooms.
“All in all the club is rebuilding for the future,” he said. “We are all in for exciting times at Emerald Football Club, so jump on board.”
