Great fare at Deli Platter

PAMPERING lovers of true deli fare, The Deli Platter in Olinda is a mecca for hard to please hills residents who are arriving from far and wide as word spreads.
“Ten years of living in the hills without a dedicated deli made me realise that one was desperately needed,” said The Deli Platter’s proprietor Mary Knight.
Mary has stocked her deli with a fantastic range of delicacies including cold meats, gourmet sausages, gluten-free ham and bacon and organic raw honey.
A selection of more than 35 different cheeses is on display and all-natural bake at home pasta meals are also extremely popular with customers.
Perfect for winter warming soups are ham hocks and bacon bones, currently only $5.95 a kilo.
“Just arrived is Maggie Beer’s Desert Pearls non-alcoholic champagne,” said a delighted Mary who also prides herself on serving the most fantastic coffee and hot chocolates, made with Belgian couverture chocolate, to be enjoyed at the deli’s cafe. This luscious indulgence is also available to purchase.
Delicious focaccias, fresh Italian rolls and cheese and antipasto platters are also on the cafe menu.
Call in for a great selection of deli fare or relax in the cafe at The Deli Platter, 1518 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Olinda, (opposite the Mt Dandy Hotel). Phone 9751 0144.
The deli is open 9.30am-6pm weekdays and 9.30am-5pm at weekends.
