MT DANDENONG artist Dorota Connellan will share her passion for painting with hills people this month.
She is set to display her work at an exhibition at the Lady Hawk Café at 1365-1367 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road in Mt Dandenong.
The exhibition titled Odyssey: Long Adventurous Journey features paintings of the people and subjects that have inspired her throughout her life.
Ms Connellan’s journey began when she left her homeland of Poland in 1984 as a political refugee.
She then spent 11 months in Athens with her family and other migrants before being accepted into Australia.
Ms Connellan said she loves to paint inspirational people.
“I want to paint people’s truths – how they appear to me or what they hold dear,” she said. “I want to represent the beauty and pain of real life.”
People are invited to come along and enjoy this artistic journey on opening night at the Lady Hawk Café, Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, on Saturday, 10 February from 7pm to 9pm.
The exhibition will be open until Wednesday, 28 February.
