THE Hills will be rocking to the sounds of local bands on Friday night for the next Shire of Cardinia FReeZA event.
FReeZa is an event program where young people help to organise a night of entertainment that is drug, alcohol and smoke free.
Rock the Hill will have an awesome line up of local bands such as Makeshift, Cut the Lights, Swifty, Red Kase and the Skemos.
The night will start at the Emerald Hall at 7pm. Those interested in a free pass for the night should contact Emma Firth at the shire on 5945 4351.
Passes will also be available on the night for $3 and can be collected from Emerald Newsagency or Leading Edge Pakenham.
The shire is also calling for young people between the ages of 14-21 to get involved in the organisation of the FReeZA events.
A minimum of five of these events will be held across the shire in 2006.
Shire youth services officer Emma Firth said joining the FReeZA committee would put volunteers in touch with other like-minded young people and musicians taking an active role in improving live entertainment options for Cardinia’s youths.
“Nobody knows what young people want to hear better than other young people, and this is a great opportunity to get hands-on music industry and event promotion and management skills, which look good on a resume,” she said.
Anyone interested in joining the committee should call Emma Frith on 5945 4351.
