Savvy design move

MOTORIST can now get the sexy style of the new Savvy at Proton in Lilydale.
The all new Savvy is powered by a 1.2 litre engine and is available in five-speed manual or four-speed automatic and offers strong performance and even more impressive fuel economy.
Steven Thomas, Proton Cars Australia general manager of sales and marketing, said the key to success for the new Savvy is its lightweight and clever design.
Mr Thomas said the design of the Savvy gives motorists a small car that offer practicality, fuel economy, generous space and great all round performance. “It’s not a sports car but its DNA is very clearly linked with the famous sports car maker Lotus whose ethos is performance through light weight,” he said.
The Savvy also has greater torsion rigidity compared to previous Protons and has been tested against a number of German and Italian models during the development process.
Lotus style has also influenced this vehicle’s sleek and stylish exterior projecting a young, spirited and energetic car.
One of the unique and practical features of the Savvy is its flat-folding rear seats which has been designed for creating a practical and sporty cabin.
Mr Thomas said the Savvy is part of Proton’s ongoing roll-out of new generation vehicles.
“While it will have broad appeal for its low price, strong equipment levels, looks, performance and economy, our research suggest that up to 40 per cent of Savvy sales will be women aged 18 to 34,” he said.
“It will also have strong appeal to older retirees, young men and small businesses.”
Savvy is available in five colours including passion blue, midnight black and chilli red.
People can check out this sexy new car by dropping into Proton at Lilydale, 447-449 Maroondah Highway, and take a test drive or call 9739 7007.
