Fill up cartridges not landfill sites

RECYCLING used ink and laser cartridges makes good sense by helping the environment and helping people to save money.
“At Cartridge World Ferntree Gully we refill empty ink cartridges and remanufacture used laser cartridges ready for re-use rather than sending them to waste,” said manager Albert Riddell.
“When customers bring their empty cartridges into our store, we can refill most ink cartridges while they wait.
“We use the highest quality inks and toners for the process and can give expert advice and tips on usage.”
Cartridge World started in Adelaide in the mid ‘90s, franchised and spread to all other states in Australia.
In 2000, the company went offshore and there are now more than 1400 stores worldwide in more than 127 countries. It remains an Australian-owned company.
Cartridge World Ferntree Gully opened in June 2004 at 1055A Burwood Highway.
“We feel good about what we do,” said Albert.
“Our customers can also feel good about saving a dollar and saving the environment from unnecessary landfill by refilling and reusing their printer cartridges.”
Recycling is a hot issue and a huge growth industry. Cartridge World Ferntree Gully has provided some good reasons why people should recycle their printer cartridges:
•approximately 1500 tonnes of toner cartridges are sent to landfill in Australia each year;
•3.4 litres of oil is needed to make one new laser cartridge;
•laser printer cartridges account for more than 90 per cent of all throw-away;
•a laser cartridge thrown into landfill can take 450 years to decompose.
